Our Founders & Board

Robyn Tresnak, PhD

With a passion for education of children and their families, Robyn collaborated with other educators to start Robyn’s N.E.S.T. in 2017.  She spent over twenty years in the early childhood and elementary classrooms within general and inclusion classrooms, music classroom, and administration. After that time, she moved to the university to facilitate the education of aspiring teachers who would fill future classrooms, where today she is still working with educators to empower the next generation. Her graduate studies focused on curriculum design, educational law, and innovation in education. Robyn completed her dissertation on parental involvement in the development process of young children.  Within the community, Robyn serves in children’s ministry at her local church, on multiple literacy councils, she presents at education conferences, and is the CEO of Robyn’s N.E.S.T.

Brenda Rodriguez

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Brenda has an excitement for learning and discovering new things led her into a career of education. It was natural for her to help in the building and continual growth of this foundation. She has over twenty years of experience teaching pre-K through 4th grade. She’s passionate about creating a growing love in her students for learning and teaching them to strive for success. Brenda stays active volunteering in her community through Robyn’s N.E.S.T. Her hope is that all children fulfill their dreams.

Jordan Cornell

As a medical entomologist in the army, Jordan brings public health observations and solutions to the community. This care for the community stretches as he impacts the educational health of the children and families through our organization. He has a drive for personal learning and sharing that enthusiasm with young children in the community. Jordan has served Robyn’s N.E.S.T. from day one by raising awareness of the needs for literacy and learning opportunities within the whole child. Implementing his leadership and operational abilities within our organization, he elevates the board of directors.

Rachael Cornell

Throughout her education, Rachael discovered art as a way to explore personal creativity. As a graduate in zoology, she now combines her love of animals and her joy in art to design illustrations that incorporate animals and multiple art media. Rachael opens her artistry for young children and families to add to her illustrations, learn through the experience, and continue the creations. Serving the board as creative director, she brings a love of learning to children and families throughout the community.

Patricia Nester

One of the Robyn’s N.E.S.T. founding board members is better known to her family, friends and community as “Patsy”. She has lived in San Antonio, Texas for most of her life. Her love of reading and writing and wanting to help children find that same joy directed her to first obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and later, her Master of Library Science. She continues to work as an elementary librarian where she is a fierce advocate for children and for their right to read what they enjoy.
